Join us on Saturday, April 16th for Fenners own
Earth Day Extravaganza!

Honor the legacy of Earth Day by giving back to nature with Fenner Nature Center and our community partners at our third annual Earth Day Extravaganza on April 16th.  From 7am – 3pm, explore the local flora and fauna alongside biologists, hobbyists, and Michigan State University Fisheries and Wildlife students during our annual “Bioblitz.” This biological inventory of the park is a fun way for visitors to become engaged in the care of the wildlife here determining what species are present so that we can provide and protect their habitat.  Visitors of all ages are welcome to join us as we search for salamanders, put leg bands on birds, and dip for pond creatures!

We’ll need volunteers to help clear brush to prepare the land for the planting of native Michigan grasses and wildflower species that will put on a spectacular show for humans and provide food and shelter for wildlife.   As always, we’ll have our “Garlic Mustard Pull Challenge” to eradicate this invasive species from the park.   Individuals and teams are welcome to join us and see if we can surpass the 11 tons that were pulled last year.

If your business, family, or friends are interested in coming together to volunteer for a great cause, please email us at
